Pictures from my phone

This is my nephew Alex with his pet duck.

July 4th.  I was in Lovettsville trying to drive back to the ashram.  The police stopped me because they were having a parade.  I asked them how I was supposed to get back and they gave me a police escort through the parade.  There were two police cars.  I think they were bored.

This is a frog outside of my tent.  Very well fed.

This is Dhivya's cat.

This is the cat ladder for her cats to get up on the deck.

Miller's bar and restaurant.

My hotel room.  It was great after spending three weeks in a tent.  Nice vacation from my vacation.

The ashram gopher.  He was more friendly than I expected.

Vacation to Monticello

I took a day off from Yogaville to go to Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's house) and decided to stay in a hotel for the night.  It was so nice to have a bed and a bathroom.

This garden is actually a green roof.  There are classrooms underneath this pavilion.

This is another green roof.  The gift shop is below.

Here is the luxury hotel that I stayed at.  It has an outdoor swimming pool, very comfortable beds and free breakfast.

Campus

These are pictures from around the campus.

I've been watching this bluebird house since I got here.  I have to walk by it to go swimming at Lotus Lake.  Every time I go by, the mother flies out.  It had 3 beautiful little blue eggs for the first couple of weeks.  I just peeked in the other day and there are 3 ugly little babies inside.  I tried to take pictures but they didn't come out too well.

This is Mandala Cafe.  They sell coffee, sweets and other foods here.  They have very limited hours and also have free wifi.

These are two buildings in the quad.  The building on the left is where we meditate every morning at 5am.  The building on the right has two yoga studios, dorms and a laundry room in the basement.

My favorite swami.

This is Sister Mukti's Garden.  I helped her weed and mulch.

Ceremony

This was a ceremony at Kailash.  You go up to this swami and give him wood to burn in the fire.  With it you pray and offer things to god.  You can also offer things that you want to get rid of from your life.

This is James and Nina.  They are moving to Denver.

Meals

We eat all our meals in the cafeteria together.  The food is really good.

Swimming

James River - It's a short walk to the river from Lotus Temple.  The water is shallow and runs fast.  It's like swimming on a treadmill.  You swim as fast as you can and stay in the same place.

Lotus Lake - Very calm and pleasant.

Temples

There are 3 main temples. (Note:  Spelling may not be accurate).
Lotus is down by the lake.

Chidumbrum is where Swami Satchidinanda is buried.
Kailash is at the top of the mountain behind Chidumbrum.
